Babies! Margot Robbie Is Gonna Star In A ‘HARLEY QUINN’ Spinoff Movie, Because Duh
By Jarrod Jones. Get ready for more Harley.
David Ayer’s Suicide Squad is still three months away, but that’s not stopping executives at Warner Bros from declaring their confidence in Margot Robbie’s turn as Harley Quinn. Guess what got announced today? No, go ahead! Take a wild guess. (You already read the headline, didn’t you.)
Inevitability aside, a Harley Quinn-centric spin-off movie is already in the works.
The Hollywood Reporter got the exclusive, and with it, an intriguing twist — the spinoff won’t be a solo movie, as you would naturally expect, but a team-up film of sorts featuring several other female DC Comics characters, with Batgirl and the Birds of Prey being but a couple of names already thrown into the mix.
The best part about all of this? It was all Margot Robbie’s idea. From the Reporter:
Sources say that Robbie was the impetus for the project, adding that when she got the part for the movie, she dove deep into the comics to learn as much as possible on the character. In the process, she fell for DC’s female characters. She brought on the writer to help develop the project and brought it Warners, which snapped it up.
As to the plot of the film, there are absolutely no details. So for no reason whatsoever, here’s a video.
There’s a writer attached to the project, but her name is being kept secret for the time being. Warner Bros had nothing more to add to the news, figuring this morsel would be satiating enough. And for once, they were absolutely right.
‘Harley’s Holiday’, a name I just pulled out of nowhere, has no official release date.
