By Jarrod Jones. Free Comic Book Day is still four months out, but Chapterhouse seems to belive there’s no reason why you can’t get excited about it right now. And we concur.

Chapterhouse Publishing has announced two titles for this year’s May 5, 2018 offerings: Invasion and Die Kitty Die: “I Love You To Death”. Details after the graphics. Feast your eyes.

This year’s FCBD sets the stage for Chapterhouse’s most ambitious year yet.

Invasion marks the publisher’s first major event, uniting every hero contained within the Chapterverse: From Fantomah and Freelance to Northguard and the Agents of P.A.C.T., every superhero in Chapterhouse’s arsenal will join together to combat an invading alien race called the Borealis.

From the official press release: “Having observed Earth from afar, the Borealis arrive to pass judgement on humankind – a failure, too dangerous to be allowed to live. However, despite our flaws, Captain Canuck and the heroes of the Chapterverse still believe humans are worth saving. This action-packed Chapterverse crossover event will also look back at the story of the Chapterverse so far, so new readers are not left out of the action.”

For Chapterhouse founder Fadi Hakim, who’s overseen the revitalization of these classic Canadian superhero properties for the last three years, Invasion is a hard-won milestone. “I’ve been counting the days to ‘Invasion’ since we released ‘Captain Canuck’ on Free Comic Book Day in 2015,” Hakim said in the release. “Having the story come full circle for Free Comic Book Day 2018 is simply the best thing ever!

And while that would be enough to get excited for, Invasion marks the debut for the Captain Canuck Season Four writing team, Chapterhouse CCO Jay Baruchel and writer Van Jensen (Green Lantern CorpsThe Flash)Says Baruchel, “This is big, blockbuster, summer entertainment. It’s got monsters, superheroes, space ships, big explosions, and Donald Trump being subjugated by aliens — pretty much all you could ask for in a comic book. Exciting stuff that’s going to take heads off.”

Artist Leonard Kirk will handle interiors for the FCBD issue, under a stunning cover by John Gallagher.

Meanwhile, Dan Parent and Fernando Ruiz present Chapterhouse’s second FCBD title, Die Kitty Die: “I Love You To Death”. Following the events directly after Die Kitty Die: Hollywood Or Bust, Kitty Ravencraft’s well-publicized death has come and gone, but that shouldn’t suggest that her story is at an end.

Solicit information for both Invasion and Die Kitty Die: “I Love You To Death” are below. See you on May 5!

The biggest event in the history of Chapterhouse Comics is here with Invasion, an epic battle between Earth’s heroes and the otherworldly threat of the Borealis! The alien race has long observed our planet, and in this special event prologue, they arrive on Earth, ready to pass judgment and deliver their verdict: humanity is a failure, too dangerous to be allowed to live. But the Borealis did not account for Captain Canuck, who stands to the last to defend his home, no matter the odds. Canuck and his fellow heroes – Kebec, Northguard, Freelance, Fantomah, Pharos, Human-Lizard, and the Agents of P.A.C.T – are proof that all is never lost, and that the world, for all its flaws, is still worth saving.
