By Jarrod Jones. Look, I dunno about you, but I’m getting a hankering for some Joy Division.
Ahead of the much-anticipated limited series New Mutants: Dead Souls — not to mention a certain major motion picture out later this year — Marvel Comics unveiled their “New Mutant Variant Cover Program” on Tuesday. Featuring pencils by the likes of Declan Shalvey, Dave Johnson, Bilquis Evely, and more, the variant series will feature “dark versions of your favorite Marvel heroes” and will span across the ten Marvel titles listed below.
All-New Wolverine #32 by Mike Deodato.
Avengers #685 by Terry Dodson.
Cable #155 by Tyler Kirkham.
Despicable Deadpool #296 by Declan Shalvey.
Doctor Strange: Damnation #3 by Leinil Yu.
Old Man Logan #36 by Dave Johnson.
Peter Parker: The Spectacular Spider-Man #301 by Bilquis Evely.
X-Men Blue #23 by Clayton Crain.
X-Men Gold #23 by Jason Pearson.
X-Men Red #2 by Dan Mora.
Dark Souls unites writer Matt Rosenberg and artist Adam Gorham for a macabre six-issue jaunt through the darker corners of the Marvel Universe. Each issue offers a standalone story featuring Magik, Wolfsbane, Boom Boom, and other assorted New Mutants, rising up to fight… the conquistadors who took their share, presumably.
