By Tommy RobbinsIt’s a great time to love video games. Don’t believe it? Here’s some news: Everyone’s favorite fictional plumber will soon be making his way to iPhones across the globe.

Oh, yes — we’re getting a mobile Mario.

During Apple’s announcement event for the new iPhone 7 on Wednesday, a surprise came by way of Nintendo and Mario creator, Shigeru Miyamoto, who announced that the next big product to spawn from Nintendo’s partnership with DeNA will put Mario right on our iPhones, where, let’s be honest, is where he always belonged.

Footage from the event shows that the mobile title will sport the same polished graphical style as Super Mario Brothers Wii and apparently will be playable with just one hand.

Super Mario has evolved whenever he has encountered a new platform,” Mr. Miyamoto said, just before he went and made everyone at the Apple conference incredibly hungry. “And for the first time ever, players will be able to enjoy a full-fledged Super Mario game with just one hand, giving them the freedom to play while riding the subway, or my favorite, eating a hamburger.” Hamburgers!

As is the case with Pokemon Go, just don’t play while driving.

Nintendo has told Kotaku that the game will be coming to Android devices shortly after the iPhone lunch — er, launch.

A portion of ‘Super Mario Run’ will be available for free, launching on iPhone app store in December. A price for the full experience is forthcoming.
