It’s that time of year again, where our stalwart team takes some much-deserved time off to be with their families, catch up on the most-recent Star War (for better or worse), and generally remember what it’s like to read a comic book without the creeping feeling of a deadline breathing its arctic breath down their necks. We’ve taken the month off, but that doesn’t mean you can’t still enjoy DoomRocket!
For instance, are you following us on Twitter and/or Instagram? Even though this month is technically our “break month”, that shouldn’t suggest that there isn’t new content coming down the pike for you to enjoy!
For starters, here’s an exclusive interview with writer Michael Carroll and John Higgins concerning their new Judge Dredd prequel strip, Dreadnoughts: Breaking Ground, which debuts in the Judge Dredd Megazine later in 2020!
And keep your eyes peeled for our highly-anticipated YEAR IN REVIEW feature, which charts the absolute best writers, artists, and comics that made 2019 a little more bearable for everybody. And following that: our YEAR TO COME feature, which highlights our favorite new projects coming soon in the first half of 2020!
As for DoomRocket itself, devoted readers will notice a publishing change in the new year: We’re shifting to a once-monthly release schedule! Your favorite DoomRocket features will live on, posted once a month in the third week of every month, starting January 20! This will go a long way to streamline the consistency of DoomRocket publication, which I’m afraid became far too erratic in the latter half of 2019. Once-monthly means less content, sure, but it also means better content—UNDERCOVER, RETROGRADING, The DoomRocket Review, and other new and exciting features will have a chance to breathe under this new paradigm… and, I hope, they will feel more like an event when they’re released.
As for your favorite comics podcast, CASUAL WEDNESDAYS will stay on a weekly schedule! Make sure you’ve subscribed to the official DoomRocket podcast on your preferred podcatcher (Apple Podcasts, Stitcher, Spotify, etc.), and definitely be sure to leave a review or post a 5-star rating wherever you find us! Only through your support will CASUAL WEDNESDAYS continue to provide a weekly blast of humor and introspection concerning the current state of the comics industry!
