They are the creeps who often find themselves on the receiving end of Dredd’s fists. The malcontents who lurk in the shadows, who devise dastardly plots, who would fight for the abolition of laughter, hope, and all things good. They’re the bad guys, and this May they’re taking over 2000 AD.

The Galaxy’s Greatest Comic has a Free Comic Book Day surprise for all you lovers of the loathed: Villains Takeover Special is 32 pages packed to the Thrill-powered brim with the best of the worst! From Judge Dredd‘s rictus-grinning Judge Death to the roaming rampagers known as The Stix, this Takeover has designs on ruling over your FCBD haul. We suggest you let it!

Whether you’re a reader lapsed or new, or an unabashed nonscrot looking for a written invitation, at the ludicrously low price of 99¢ (99p for our UK readers) you won’t find a better opportunity to jump on the most riotous sci-fi comics bandwagon in the cosmos! Don’t let the ghoulish grins of theses nefarious ne’er-do-wells throw you—this summer is gonna be bad.

From 2000 AD: The dastardly and the iniquitous will be taking over this Free Comic Book Day – and we’d like to present to you the preview of the first ever 2000 AD Villains Takeover!

To coincide with Free Comic Book Day, this new special sees the baddies from some of the 2000 AD’s biggest strips, including Judge Dredd, Strontium Dog, and Sláine, get their moment in the spotlight – all for the low price of just 99p/99c.

The 32-page US-format special will be on sale to coincide with Free Comic Book Day on 4th May 2019 – comic book stores can order their copies now from Diamond Distribution.

It is being published alongside Rebellion’s main title for Free Comic Book Day, The Treasury of British Comics Presents Funny Pages.

Creators involved include Rob Williams (Suicide Squad) and Pat Mills (Marshal Law) with art from the likes of Swedish concept artist Henrik Sahlstrom, Kyle Hotz (Lucifer), Kael Ngu (Justice League), Henry Flint (Judge Dredd) and Chris Weston (The Filth).

Inside, the lawman of the future faces a familiar rictus grin in JUDGE DEATH: THE JUDGE WHO LAUGHS by Rob Williams and Henrik Sahlstrom, and there’s fiendish fantasy with LORD WEIRD SLOUGH FEG: LORD OF THE HUNT by Pat Mills and Kyle Hotz. There’s chem-wreathed criminality in the world of Rogue Trooper in BRASS AND BLAND: THE PROFESSIONALS by Karl Stock and Kael Ngu while malefactory mutant-bountyhunters-turned-bad-guys, The Stix, from Strontium Dog cause trouble in STIX: SLEEPING DOGS LIE by Matt Smith and Chris Weston. And this issue is all rounded off by TERROR TALE: LAST OF THE HELLPHIBIANS by that master of the mendacious Henry Flint!

The 2000 AD Villains Takeover Special will be on sale from 1st May and is available for comic book stores to order in time for Free Comic Book Day from Diamond Distribution using code JAN192056.
