Daily Planet reporter Lois Lane is breaking news (and possibly a few noses) in the pages of her own 12-issue maxiseries, Lois Lane, aimed for a July 3 release. Following the current gob-smacking events of DC’s summer event series, Event Leviathan, Lois Lane will follow the exploits of DC’s premiere investigative journalist as she journeys outside of Metropolis hot on the trail of a global conspiracy that could topple the very structures of society itself—not to mention, put an end to her famous husband’s storied superheroic career.
DC has officially released two pages from Lois Lane #1, available for your scrutiny below. Eleven panels, that’s all we get, but it’s more than sufficient to convey the sharply cynical tone of the series as presented by writer Greg Rucka and artist Mike Perkins, who establish a sense of political turmoil that is not dissimilar from our own, um, harrowing realities: Rotten behavior from our elected officials, dubiously implemented detainment camps, a non-stop deluge of environmental catastrophes—this looks like a job for… a hard-assed, take-no-s#&% reporter named Lois Lane!
