by Clyde Hall. “It’s a madhouse! A madhouse!” Just what have those mad geniuses at AHOY Comics got simmering on the burner and nigh-ready to ladle up? A time-travel scenario that, in its own nutty way, could be as jarring to the displaced parties as a planet ruled by apes was to astronaut George Taylor! Planet of the Nerds #1 makes its debut April 17t from Tri-Lambs Paul Constant (writer), Alan Robinson and Randy Elliott (artists), Felipe Sobreiro (colorist), and Rob Steen (letterer).

A cryogenic accident in the 1980s puts three High School jocks on ice until their rescue and resuscitation in 2019. The world they knew, the world they ruled, is gone. Big hair, Shoulder Pads of Doom, and Valley Girls have gone the way of the Dodo. In its place, they find a planet run by comic book-loving, intellectually superior, nerds. Once, our three throwbacks made nerd lives a living hell. That worm has turned and the formerly oppressed now hold the reigns of culture, economy, and control. The Cold War is over, and so is the battle for domination between the Cool Kids and the Geeks.

The jocks are going to have to be good losers if they hope to survive in an alien landscape where, for the first time, they occupy the evolutionary ladder’s low rung. Can they adapt? Can they expect more mercy from the nerdy era’s overlords than they once displayed when their roles were reversed? It’s hard to imagine those once on the top of the heap accepting their new status with grace and dignity, based on this AHOY preview!
